I fully expect this photo to tank. Actually, it should score about a 5.50 if the pro-abortion folks give it a 1 and the pro-life crowd give it a 10 (I doubt it will get a 10).

Rational voters should score it well because it's technically a good photo and they should look beyond the content and any personal disagreement... but we're human and never purely objective.

I've had this old railroad spike for several years. The baby doll head was on the roadside and I went on the 20th to claim it. I had thought before just a shot of the doll head in the street was an interesting art shot... but then this idea came to me as well.

This somewhat depicts partial birth abortion, where the live baby is partially "born" so that the doctor can penetrate the skull and kill the baby. Then the dead body is expelled from the so-called mother. Even if you're for "women's rights" partial birth abortion should sicken anyone with an ounce of humanity.

Nevertheless, we'll see where this one goes. Should be interesting. If I brown, so be it. I enter this challenge with a ZERO score... any points are welcome.

Oh yeah... and I expect a boatload of comments right off the bat!

OK... so the first vote was a 6... then a 1. Then a 1/2 punch. Then a 4. So after 5 votes, a 2.80. Never been that low before. But it's a good shot with a true messages, so I don't care what it scores. And it has rust in it prominently. :)

Just discovering this now. A great conceptual image hugely underrated.
Looks like it evoqued just too much emotions.
Unfortunately, because viewers should be able letting their personal feelings go and purely rate the image within its style.

I prayed before I committed to submitting this photo that no woman would be unduly harmed by it for whatever reason...

Wow... (My membership has lapsed, so I cannot edit details)...

Impressed this moved up above 5.000 Had a couple of last minute 1s that knocked it from a 5.09 high. Also impressed at the folks who disagreed with the concept, but appreciated the photo and voted it well. To be honest, I don't know if I could have done the same had the subject been pro-abortion. So kudos to those of you that could. Very honorable.

I wanted the white background on purpose to show the rust, but also give a clinical feel. It seems to have paid off.

Not has many hater comments as I expected. I fully expected to get lambasted for this. :)

The photo was technically great, but as I couldn't detach emotionally from the title I chose to not vote.

Regardless of one's stance on abortion, I thought this was an excellent use of the topic and I gave it a 9. I see you got slammed as expected. Deserved much better for being a technically good entry and making a strong point with it.

I'm not sure I'm on your side of the argument but a powerful piece of work and very well photographed too.

Sometimes when people take some things lightly, the message that is being passed on needs to be a little harsh. What a great way to pass on the message. Beautiful picture composition around the rust.

Great conceptual image! I think it would have been better off without the title to leave the interpretation to the viewers.

Ok, a little disturbing and not a photo I would hang in my house, but well done nonetheless. A solid 9 in my book.

if a photo has a strong message such as this, it will damage the votes you get from certain people.

Technically nice image with good texture and composition. Not sure how the crowd will take it as a whole though.
