Used my Nikon SB800 for lighting. I put the SB800 on a home-made softbox (styrofoam box covered with wax paper and trash bags)...

In my opinion, this is the only image in the top 3 that is truly minimalist. Great shot, great score, extra kudos for actually being minimalist.

I'm not a member so I can't vote on member challenges. Instead, I look through the entries for images that make me stop clicking on to the next one. This is one of those images....

What exquisite lighting! This is a terrific example of how little light against black can make such a powerful and distinct impression. Hope it does well (and expect, from my limited experience here, that it will).

a great portrait, very very good... if the title of the challenge was BW or portrait for me on the podium... in the minimalism challenge i give you a 6, is not so miniaml for me, in the sense of what i'd like to see in this challenge.
