 So, there's about a twelve-foot space where there's officially no road work, and a traffic fine will cost half as much as to either side of the "gap."

I admit to a bit of cloning to cover up a sticker someone had pasted onto one of the signs.

Only in California can they spend the extra money to allow you to hammer down in that 12 foot section.
