Congratz on the blue with this most deserving entry. Very cool and really very well done.

It reminds me a little also of the "Secret Chamber" on the South African music group "Die Antwoord"s website: TIP! Move your cursor over the various animated faces in the image with your sound turned on:
//www.dieantwoord.com/secret.html
and this lovely group photo of them:
//files.myopera.com/coxy/albums/527288/die_antwoord1.jpg
And the artwork incorporated into their zany video-clip..do give it a listen, it's something else:
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=wc3f4xU_FfQ

And I myself have 2 images in my DPC portfolio as well that incorporate Zebra Stripes:

//www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=805523

As someone already mentioned, it also does remind a little of Keith Haring's famous and controversial self portrait photographed by the famous Annie Leibowitz:

Wow - I certainly wasn't expecting a ribbon, much less a blue one! Thank you very much to everyone who voted and especially everyone who commented! So a little about the image - I've been playing around with op art style images off and on for a while now and when challenge subject of books came up, this concept popped into my head almost immediately. A quick search and then a wait for the library system to ship the book to my local branch and I was ready to shoot. For those wondering, the book is Introducing Op Art by John Lancaster. As for the suit - it's called a zentai suit and can be found in a number of places in the wonderful world that is the Internet. I've found them particularly inspiring and visually cool for photographic work (not to mention they're comfy! :) ). A good solid branch of my work is based in this - have a look for me on Flickr if you want to check out more...

Thanks again, everyone!

this is just crazy. very good but crazy 8
taking off points for wrinkled backdrop which breaks the fluidity of an otherwise seamless shot.

This is definitely unique. I feel the image would have benefited from a closer crop at the left. It also would have cut out some of the wrinkles in your backdrop. 6
