I appreciate that. Not to knock the other "migrant mother" image in this challenge but I felt that I executed this representation much more precisely yet I can understand how my soft focus must have not sat well with the voters. Well at least it chops up to a good learning experience. I should have left the mother in focus. Seems like i fooled some into believing it was the original print out of focus in the background and not a recreation. Is it not obvious that those are mannequins and not real children? That actually part of the reason I defocused the mother and children, because I couldn't stand the inaccurate details. Now in hindsight I wish i would have built on this and made the image much more artistically stylized and used the mannequins to that advantage.

Thanks and I agree, this particular foreground theme was a last minute addition when my first idea didn't pan out. It should have been as gritty as the moment itself

I like your interpretation, and your attention to detail (in regards to the background).

I am at a total loss as to why you would blur out the migrant mother and children and focus on the can and plate.

Oh I loved this whole series. Fabulous. The mother's expression is spot on.

Interesting take on a classic. I don't think focusing on the meal is as powerful as focusing on the "family"
