Location: Oxford Mills Area

Well, this was the first shoot with my new 400 f5.6L. I ended up meeting up with the girlfriend. She lives out in the country. Yeah, nothing but cows and flies. Oh and some osprey! So we headed out, to a local nest. These nests are perched on telephone poles. Access was easy, as it was on a country road. So we just waited as the bird flew and landed. This shot, being just before touchdown. So thanks Snaffles, it was fun as usual! Plus great images too!

I must also say, I am extremely pleased with this lens's performance. Even makes the 5D tracking system, quite useful. Yeah, super fast focus, on a 5D. Darn sharp too! So if you need a bird lens, don't pass this by...

Image was cropped, resized and some green brought down in curves. As, I was shooting in landscape mode. All adjustments in Digital Professional.

I think this will be, one of my stronger freestudy shots. I know I love it!

10. I know firsthand how incredibly hard this must have been. I'm very curious the process behind this. Did you have a mouse on your head? LOL.
