I had this idea and finally got it together to set up and shoot. Not a horrendous amount but it came up pretty close to how I envisioned it.
I bought a bag of raw peanuts with the idea in mind that a raw peanut shell might have more give than one that was roasted. I split the shells, trying to keep one seam of the shell intact and released the nuts. Some split open all around and those were hot glue gunned backed together. I cut the bottom off each shell case.
I had a black piece of poster board. I used an exacto knife to chop small holes in the board. I had also bought a set of 100 small blue decorative lights. I stuck the lights through the bottom of the board trying to keep the as straight up and down as possible....well as much as I could. Then I placed a peanut shell over each of the lights trying as much to keep a slpit open at the top to emit light like the alien nursery in Aliens. I placed a sheet of aluminum foil in the background and placed the remainder of the lights that were not shelled, as it were, around the around and over the foil.
That's it. It was fun to try something different and I like it....so we all knows that means a 5.5 max. Sorry to have let my team down. If they don't boot me off the team and we make the play offs, I hope I can do better. thx.
