 I noticed this interesting play of light and shadow while out with the family at a restaurant for Easter brunch. On the opposite side of this is the bar, with sunlight coming in from the opposite window. Thought it made a nice semi-abstract image.

I figure this is a risky entry, and expect it to either do well, or crash & burn in the 4's. I can imagine this hanging on my wall with a nice wide mat framing it, but borders on challenge entries don't seem to go over well. Besides, at 800 pixels wide, it would take away too much image area anyway.

Anticipated critiques:
Too many to possibly list them all. As an abstract image, I expect a few of "personal preference" type of critiques, such as
-Don't care for the color treatment
-Don't care for the wide crop
-Too dark

Post-challenge notes:
I'm very pleased with how this one fared. A high 5 average, a very high commenter's average and even a positive comment from Posthumous. The comment from xion is among the best I have ever recieved during a challenge. I'm glad I chose to enter this one.

Very true! I consider that to be among the best comments I have received during a challenge.

This is great. Really like it. I can see myself sat underneath a large print of that in a bar somewhere drinking heavily.

After seeing many of those glasses against multicoloured contrasty backgrounds and filled with frozen jelly hanging and angled in all weird directions in almost every challenge, this in deed was much needed for my poor soul. Than you. Love this image.
