For those interested, this is a picture of the light set-up taken about 15-20 minutes before the entry photo. Amber gels were used with both the main and the hair lights, this resulted in a pleasant blending with the natural warm sunset light coming from the background.

Certainly excellent lighting, and the technicals are faultless, but to me the photo does come over as more of a model shoot than a portrait - it just seems a bit empty, and more about the photographer than the person being photographed. Also somewhat disappointed to see that the 'DPC User' has never been active, and indeed has viewed just 31 photos in all her time here. Nonetheless, I gave you an 8.

I really like the way the background colors play off the model. The smokey sky sets the mood & the golden light really sets off her hair.

The eyes are very sharp and almost make contact with the viewer. The subject stands out nicely from the BG. I'm undecided about the strap off the shoulder... otherwise generally very good
