 A Screech Owl at the Houston Zoo.

All done in Aperture
- Sharpen in RAW
- Used preset Auto Enhance
- Increased detail in shadows so you could see the reflection in the eyes
- Exported to CS5 for unsharp mask before uploading.

For those that were wondering. This was taken at the Houston Zoo. The trainer had the bird out and was talking to us about her. There was a dull green building behind the bird (have some shots with that background and maybe I should have entered one of them) but I noticed this bright green metal bar could be used as the background. I like the green background but I can understand how others would not.

cool owl with pretty good details - but the background is not working for me at all - it appears to have been painted as if in photoshop

I like the detail of the owl, but I do not like the green in the background at all. It looks very unnatural.

I like how the owl is placed in the left hand side of the image, really uses the negative space well. The background feels unnatural to me, more like a green screen than the outdoors.
