Location: Harwich Port, MA

ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/125
Date Uploaded: May 8, 2010

This one dropped from 6.9574 at rollover, lost 9 votes and .0425; would have been good enough for a ribbon (assuming the others hadn't dropped also)...

A bummer, because I really, REALLY wanted to see Whiterook on the front page :-)

It was a great run though, was over 7 for a long time.

Here's the unedited original:

This needed to ribbon. I wish you had backed off the processing a bit. Still, I'm glad it did as well as it did. Not only an excellent portrait, but a compelling character study as well. Congrats to you both.

Love the processing. You got the highest marks from me: an 8. To me, this was the blue ribbon winner!

I thought this would ribbon for sure, not only because it is a great portrait but also because the rook is a very popular and loved member of this community.

No need to guess who took this. ;-Þ Really astonishing there with the processing. Only thing missing, I feel, is a bit of catch-light in the eyes. Best one so far.

Actually, it would be quite ironic if this one won the Blue Ribbon. ;-)

Wow. The man, the myth, the legend! Great photo, but shouldn't there be more brown in it? :P Really, I love this shot on its own merits, but also, there could be no more fitting end to this challenge than to see Whiterook at the top adorning the front page.

Guess: Bear_Music Not too hard. I think the pics of yourself (Entered by Penny and 'Rook, of course) could have used a heavy dose of Topaz. S'only fair. Just sayin'...

I assume this is Roberts (by the lens he was holding in the other photo. Very nice shot. Perfectly done. I bet this will be on the front page....which means, Whiterook made it to the front page! :)

Awesome photo. It depicts what I sense from him well (essentially that he takes it easy). I did expect a brown background though. BTW, the processing is not whiterooky at all.

HDR? Midtones / Shadows are probobly too dark for my liking and has made the eyes look a bit lifeless
