The light you see reflected is from a windows.

I am confused as to why their appears to be motion blur in the reflection of the ball. Maybe its just the distortion of the reflection?

Background is harsh and the flash highlight on the ball is distracting

Having the reflection in the ball is a bit distracting. Maybe put up a sheet on the window to diffuse the light.
