 Michael has had some poppies off and on for a while. I shot this one for the Orange II Challenge and went with something else. When I reviewed what I had processed for the month, this just struck me. I like the way the light hit petals in the blooms waning state. The detail about the center made me happy as well and is what caused me to go with another floral for Orange II....the bright yellow was just too stand it even though all the oranges in were quite good, I thought. So there you go. Enjoy. I'm really suckin' in the FSM this year...so help a brother out. OK?

Post...High Pass USM Soft Light sharpening....other than that the usual...some spot editing...not much.

Love the textures in dead flower shots & the colors in this are wonderful--excellent PP. This has me reaching for something to polish my screen clean so I can enjoy the nice Rembrandt light. Here's a Gilded Lily for you!

Ok. Now if you're going to shoot macro, shoot macro! Hat's off to you for getting good detail. Very colorful and lots of texture to take in.

nice flowing colours in the petals, looks a bit oversharp to me & I think perhaps a tighter letterbox crop might work better
