This pelican was standing on the lower portion of the seawall scanning the water for fish. He caught several while I shot.
Processed in raw, tone-mapped, Photoshop.
I'm going to put this one up in case I don't get something a lot better today. I suspect the voters will see this as over processed.

Good capture. Though IMO the bird doesn't stand out that much against the background. Still, a good submission.

It's funny, I'm not a big fan of over-the-top processing, and I'm not suggesting this needs to go there, however, I think this image would really benefit from some darkening of the corners to really bring the focal point home. As far as the photo goes, I like the overall framing/comp. It does seem like it's not quite as focused/sharp as it could be (perhaps a higher shutter speed would've helped - you were hand-holding the camera?) Then you wouldn't have had to sharpen quite as much (seems a little over-sharpened IMO).

Anyway, I've rambled on enough. All of the above is JMO of course. :-) Good luck in the challenge.
