Setup:
I placed the pebbles and the bracelet on a black glass plate and poured some water to create patterns.

Lighting:
I used my SB800 through white diffuser sheet behind the setup. And my SB30 bounced off the wall from left of the camera.

Processing:
Cloned and healed a lot of spots on the pebbles.
Cloned out a part of the bracelet just above the central part
Cloned out the gray spot on the upper left corner.
Adjusted levels, curves
Blended layers with multiply and soft light modes
Resized and selectively sharpened
Saved for web.

I would say this is my first Jewelry shot. So, any critiques and comments are most welcome.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

First jewelry shot?? This looks very professional! And you placed 10th with a 6.766 so obviously the other voters also thought that this was great. I like that you included the Swarovski box in it, shows that it is a real product.

The only problem I have with your photo is that it seems a bit cluttered. With the box, bracelet, rocks and water it's just a little too much. And that water that is hook shaped in the top right corner is distracting.

Overall you did a great job, there were a lot of high scoring images in this contest so making it into the top 10 is quite the accomplishment.

Love the contrast between the jewlery and the black stone. Nice placement of the designer logo. And I really like the way the top stones/water seem to curve alog the back edge of the bracelet (?). One of my favorites so far.

The box and the ring are fabulous, but whatever the ring is sitting on is way too interesting, and I find myself looking at it far more, trying to figure out what it is.

Nice concept but I find myself trying to figure out what that black thing the product is siting on is more then looking at the product (or even caring what it is).

Very well executed image. One of my favorites. The contrast of the black pebbles and water and the blue and silver makes this photo very pleasant to the eye.

Whew! I thought that was a shoe horn in the center of the frame there for a second....
This is a second look, and a bump.

i like the rich tones and textures in this image - i just wish more of the bracelet was actually seen - it seems the black support is overwhelming the product being sold

I like the execution here, the only thing that is distracting is that I can't tell for the life of me what the jewellery is on and it's driving me nuts lol

Very good, great detail and clarity. It took me a while to figure out what it was sitting on though. Maybe the backgorund of stones is a bit too much?

Excellent shot, but feels a little cluttered to me without the product really jumping out.
