Greetings from the Critique Club!

The message
A stunning portrait, with universal appeal. It gives me the impression she is young, a bit gangling, intense, and sexy. Well deserving of a top ten placement.

Creative choices
Using a wide angle focal length is unusual and risky for portraits, but it works well here combined with the low point of view and the model's pose. Lighting is effective, giving a strong but not too harsh shadows.

Technical aspects
Focus is perfect and nicely soft. Very slightly overexposed, burning out some of the skin, but certainly not seriously so. Color rendition is slightly warm, perfect for portraiture.

This is a beautiful young lady and the studio set up is very well done. I like the pose but what bothers me is that her feet look enourmous! If you had her sitting in a more traditional pose or maybe moved her feet back? Or even cropped her legs out completely? As it is I give it a 5, if the feet were more proportioned I would give this an 8 or above

Another really beautiful Veronique shot. Love the angle and the lighting. Excellent job!

Unusual pose (for "portrait") works with the geometry and coloring of your background elements, plus excellent lighting.

Lighting: The lighting is mostly good, but is hot in a few places (right arm, wrist). She could use a stronger catchlight in her eyes to give them some life.
Pose: The pose and expression really don't tell me anything abou the person. It could be from the perspective of an infant or pet, but the lack of expression make me think of someone watching zoning out in front of a TV. Which if that was your intent, it succeeds very well.
Background: The background compliments the over all tone of the image, well chosen.

Don`t know if it is the title or the overall feel of the image but it has a very French influence to it.
I really like the sombre tones..they give the image bite.
Nice work

Great way to express character! Expertly done. (And I'm sure she's a really nice person--but I wouldn't go messin' with her!)

Love the informal pose, perhaps because it's a bit erotic with the pointy heels. My favorite of the group. 10.

Good lighting, background and focus, and the exaggerated angle provides an interesting composition. Skin tines are a little hot, but not too bad. I wish she had a more more expressive look on her face, but that's about all I can criticize. A very good shot overall, Sahko.

I love it... sexy... unique... nice lighting... I love the leading lines great use of browns, blacks and greys, Very nicely done.... I might have liked to have seen some sort of an expression on her face... maybe a sexy smirk or something? Otherwise wonderful -9-

This is a unique pose and angle. They give character to this big eyed woman. I like all the gray and black in this picture, makes her pale flesh tone stand out more. One of my favorites.

well done, captures some emotion, or attitude ; the light from her right side is just a bit harsh but it fits with the overall impression of the shot

I like the wide angle perspective as it distorts the scale of size of different parts of the model and couch. Well done.

Nice work. An attractive, unusual looking person shot in a confrontational kind of way. One hand may have been better offset somewhere else to counter the symmetry slightly and take some emhasis away from them as they are the brightest elements in the shot.

Looks like NeatImage has been at work here since this is super-clean - but it's very strong.

Great pose and facial expression. The might be just a little too much light on her right arm and forehead. But, that might just be the contrast from the dark outfit, I'm not good enough at portraits to know. I hope you do well with this shot, as it is very well done overall.

Wow, I love this pose and composition. I have thought of doing this for a self portrait.
How on earth can women wear shoes like that? LOL

Critique: Some parts of the skin are very bright almost washed out. Maybe tone down on the lighting just a bit or back it away from the person.

Wonderful composition and placement of the model. Her lines naturally draw the eye to the face. The setting and lighting of this shot is great and really give it a contemporary feel. It's very sassy and cosmopolitan.... I give a 9

Though your lighting may be a little harsh for my taste, your use of leading liines, simple set and almost monotone color scheme make this a pleasure to look at! Love the use of perspective.

Love the lighting, the expression, everything but the feet. If you cropped just below the bottom of the cushion on the couch, this would be really great, but as it is, it says "Look how huge my feet are."

I like this shot a lot. The model's pose is refreshingly different and says something about her. The only nit I have is that the cushion has little saggy lines in the corner under hand. Now THAT's a NIT! I can't vote, but that nit wouldn't take away anything from a truly good photo.

This is great...love the attitude and the pose. The leggy look given by the legs in the foreground works well with her posture and pose. Great lighting; love the furniture. Wonderful! :o)

I don't know what kind of lens that you used taking this photo, and I dont know if the model likes this effect, but I like it very mutch.
I'll check back after the challenge to see how you did this

Really an interesting picture. The model has a lot of character in her face; however, the pose you are using places emphasis on her feet which look so big in relation to the rest of her. If you cropped this off just below her hands and didn't have it look quite so smooth (neat image?) it would be stunning.

Very nice sexy pose, but there seems to be some perspective distortion (voluntary?) probably from a wide angle lens. Nice effect though. 7

Defenatly one of the better shots. Love your composition. If i were to suggest some improvments it would be a tad more space to the left (models right). I reallylike the soft muted colours, very earthy. I think it exaturates the woman very well.

even though I can't vote on this, i call this as the winner. excellent composition, sharp, no distractions, great lines and the high key-like exposure is great. To nitpick, I'd say her hands seem a little bit contorted, trying too hard to be relaxed, as well as the odd angle at her ankles and toes showing a bit in the shoes. All in all, a great portrait.
