Challenge: Things that Count (Basic Editing)

I recently moved to the beautiful mountain town of Idyllwild, CA and Tahquitz Rock (which you see in the photo) serves as my constant inspiration. And inspiration to me is a thing that REALLY counts. No matter what you do in life, do it with with passion.

I took this shot in the morning after a day of snow and hail. Light on the rock was fleeting, yet beautiful. I wish the maximum image dimension for challenge entries was even larger, as this shot looks stunning at full size.

Thanks for the comments, all. :) And I had no clue you were from the area, Robert! I used to come up here on and off growing up, and finally decided a couple months ago that I wanted to live here. :D I'm still looking for new and interesting angles to shoot the rock, but it's just hard to take a bad shot of it!

Lucky you, Idyllwild... Been through there a LOT myself, since I'm a San Diego native. Shot the rock quite a bit back int he day, I did :-) Congrats on the top-10.

GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB

Wow, we sure do have diverse scenery in California. This is a beauty, for sure. And I'm glad you get to look at it instead of me. (Brrrrrr)
:-))

You received a good score for this very nice image and landed in the top ten as well. You caught it at a good time with excellent lighting on that rock and on the sky/cloud formations.

About all I can say is keep on being inspired by Nature's architecture. You're doing fine.
