I just love this: the slight tilt, the acid wash, the position of the man, the hose guiding our eyes into the action... i really, really enjoy this!

This is quite stunning Deb - perfect crop and processing for the shot.

There is almost an unspoken elegance to the picture with the LB picking out the site that is the anchor point to the picture and provides us with all the detail we need to know. It almost like a visual jigsaw where the key piece has just dropped into place.

The explanation on the sign, and the wet sidewalk beneath it tie this up and explain to us what is happening objectively, while subjectively we then fill in the details of the street cleaner, fading out of focus - becoming one with the background ( as they are to so many people ) vague shapes of road and building, all of it ephemera, something to be noticed, but not dwelt on, as we are brought back again to the relationship between the sign, the sidewalk, and the booted foot of the cleaner. The this is made stronger by the fact that the guy is clearly caught in movement, while the sidewalk looks empty, he is busy doing his work adding a dynamic aspect to this, and the hose gives us a nice leading line drawing our eye across the picture element by element.

And as if that's not enough rambling - the acid wash is perfect to gently lift this scene out of the ordinary, which is an odd dichotomy in itself, as on one hand the whole strength of the picture is how you have captured something so very ordinary that we could so easily walk by - but it needs this extra lift, almost to force us to pause and realise how unique it is.

Anyway - I like it

Great sweet spot on the sign; I like that the sign was left yellow and the rest has the duotone feel. I like how you caught the worker in the glare of the sun and the starkness of the silhouette that gradually goes to blur. A great lensbaby and blur shot.

in the streets
the work continues
rain or shine
day or night

drudgery builds
with acid tones
no sign
of change

This is super! In NY sometimes they set out Wet Floor signs when washing sidewalks -
I think it's kind of funny. I really love all the tilts and blurs here.

This is just terrific, Deb. Lensbaby+colorprocessing+you = awesomeness. When I see this it makes me want a lensbaby, though other people have related that its use isn't intuitive.

Tilted horizon...blown highlights...camera movement...missed focus...incorrect color balance...a perfect photo!!! ;) Love this!!!

...oh wait, rule of thirds...I'm going to have to take points off! :P
