An abandoned Kodak building. Thanks to VitaminB for lending me his lens. I really need to invest into a wide angle lens.

Same location as my recent Free Study entry

[Dec. 19th, 2009 10:15:03 AM]

Some people have requested to see the colour version, so here it is:

I decided to enter the b&w because it allows the viewer to spend more time exploring the decay as opposed to being drawn in by the colourful graffiti

Oh man, sweeet! 'grats on your growing collection of ribbons, jeger-meister. That building looks like a great spot for one of LVicari's photoshoots.

Very nice Johnathan. 'gratz on your ribbon. Funny, I like the coloured version too, maybe a wee bit more, and I'm a B&W kind of guy. :)

Good choice on the monochrome. Colour distracts. Get a wide-angle, I have a tokina 12-24 which I might not use for an eternity, but when I need it, nothing else will do.
Congratulations on your ribbon.

Good use of the fisheye here. There is some nice movement going on in this image but I feel it could be enhanced with a subject (model) wither at the top or bottom of the stairs. When leading your viewers through your image, consider where their eyes will stop and give them something interesting to look at and ponder, maybe a woman weeping at the bottom of the stairs suggesting she is a product of this harsh environment she lives in, a mop and bucket on the landing to the right suggesting someone is about to clean this mess up. It should tell a story.

Good ol- fisheye =)

Love the lighting! I'm going to have to make my way out there soon!!!
