 Taken at Sitio Pulo, Brgy. Tanza in Navotas City Philippines, this was a scene were witnessed during our visit to document the place. Garbage littered everwhere, people were burning woods to make charcoal, dogs roam around scavenging for foods.

This is the other side of the City, places in deep poverty, a main problem for developing countries like the Philippines.

Terrific photo, Dennis. One thing that lessens the impact for me is that it's unclear (visually) what is going on -- I can imagine a bomb aftermath, with a man in a hazmat suit in the background wreckage. Anyway, the picture definitely draws one in to read your notes, so the true story becomes clear.

Didn't post to this challenge so didn't vote but this is a 10+, world class photo with timely and poignent content most of us never see and can't report on. But that excuse doesn't diminish the impact of this photo. Thanks for bring real content to the dpc.

really powerful image, I think the BW conversion really helps with the mood here. If only both of the people in the back ground were standing in between the poles.
