Challenge: Free Study 2009-09 (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: BellĀ & Howell BH 10
Location: Rivervale Barn, England
Date: Sep 9, 2009
Aperture: 2.8
ISO: 1000
Shutter: 1/160
Date Uploaded: Sep 30, 2009

Entering this with 6 hours to go - as before I know that wedding shots generally get low scores - but I really really love this shot.

Pip & Ash, not posed, literally taken on the fly, I did get them to stop at the entrance to the church as the light is always best here - worked perfectly this time. Pity about the break in the trees behind that has resulted in the white splash seperating them, but as I said, it was more of a `off the cuff` shot than a thought out and posed shot.

Two become one. The split in the rocks help emphasize that there are initially two individuals.

this is so good. the only thing I might have hoped for would be a little light catching his eye to balance things up

Very, very sweet. I think the line in the middle is a little distracting to the couple and keeps them from being the main focal point.

The light here is great, love the way it highlights the features. However, the break in teh background, where the brioght light is coming in, gives it a seperated, almost broken line through the photo and makes it almost like two halves. It unfortunately keeps putting this 'broken marriage' through my head, as it seems like a massive barrier in the image. Unfortunately, it completely ruins the effect of what otherwise is a great capture...............

Great use of light. I would have avoided the white band in the middle, which seems to create a vitual partition between the two - just my opinion.

Best wedding photo on here for ages, if only for the light on the bride's face. 7

The backlighting is so pretty. I can't decide if that white area between the bg trees is an addition or detracts.

A very well executed, unconventional wedding photo. I guess it was a pain to get the lighting right. And you succeeded. 8
