Reflections on glass work well quite frequently. I think in this case the grey bg isn't adding anything of interest to the photo. Black, with this subject material has some potential. That's a fun and unique item for a subject. Experiment some more with it and see what you can come up with. Good luck!

I hate this kind of games - they always make me feel stupid :) When it comes to the picture: if not the name I wouldn't guess what is it. The colour scheme is nice. Nice reflecting background. Good light. Good focus. Maybe different angle would make this composition more appealing (a bit to the top or so). Good luck :)

*not voting as I'm in this challenge-just commenting since I've seen requests for comments in the challenge thread*

This is an interesting subject. I think the metal itself could use some more contrast and the design on your surface almost looks like noise when viewed quickly, as most voters do. Those things may be hurting your score.

The lighting is a bit harsh on the lower left. Maybe a back light would help?
