by JimiRose, an image I marked as a favourite some months ago was my inspiration for this image.

I did another edit which I liked a little more, where the background had been taken down to black - but fearing a rule-break for loss of background, I've carefully editing this to include just a little of the backdrop.

Post Challenge: Woohoo, a PB and a red! That's the third time a picture of my wife has got me on the front page; perhaps I should only put pictures of Nic into challenges and not bother shooting anything else!

You couldn't have met the challenge any better. I'm glad you didn't completely remove the background as it adds so much to it.

Very creative indeed, any one can find an X in the street and just point and shoot,
But coming with a wonderful composition like this one, takes creativity for sure, very well done and you should be proud :)

WOW! I saw this on the front page and was a bit like hmmm... that's familiar... I take my hat off to you, excellent execution. Thanks for the credit but I probably wouldn't have come up with this for the challenge so I can't really take much, this came out of your head. This has helped me to realise that I was more creative once upon a time and that I really should start applying myself more, so thanks for that, I'm going to try to get more involved again.

Grats again. Fave!

Very nice, Paul! (And I like it with a little background in place - grounds her rather than having her float in mid-space, you know?)

My girlfriend thinks her head being there is distracting, but I disagree. The look on her face is great, though I can't think of how to put it into words. Is it "what ya' lookin' at, foo'?" Yeah, didn't think so... I'm not too good with these things. 9

The photo looks very bizarre to me - I like that. It's almost like separate body parts rather then a single person. There are some weird brownish lines in the background but it may be just my monitor or a purposeful part of the image: 10

This is definitely one of the best in the challenge, IMO. I like the lighting for the most part and you did a good job of meeting the challenge using an unique approach to portraiture. Couple nitpicks: model's left arm is slightly not parallel, and I would also like to see a little bit more light on her feet since they seem sorta cut off as is. Maybe it's just my monitor, but I can see a bit of your background as well, which I'd prefer not to. Either way, strong photo.
