And congrats on whipping mista Yanik there for first place, I hope he rewarded you for that :)

Good to see you back Lili! I hope now that you got yourself a ribbon you will keep on submitting here :)

This picture is simply perfect. I could come up with suggestions of how I would have taken it, maybe it should have been this way or that way. But I´m not going to do that cause I think that you made the beautiful scenery tell a story in a perfect way, and I just don´t have anything to add to it. It´s not enough to find a place like this and take a picture, you have to make something of it, and you did.

Congratulations for the 1st place, you deserve it

Love this one.

This is very weird! It looks like one of them has been flipped vertically. The stones in the lower right corner on the first place one are the same as the stones in the lower left corner of the one in third place.

And same camera!!!

Eek! Okay, so I was totally wrong about guessing you to be Heida... ;-) But take it as a compliment, as she creates terrific photographs and this photograph is a terrific one also! Congratulations!

Excellent shot. Must have waited quite a while to have all the ripples go away. Awesome shot but would have looked better if subject had been centered or placed according to rule of thirds.
06/15/2004 07:50:54 PM
nice pic dude. did you submit more than one pic? there is other very similar to this one on the contest
06/15/2004 07:09:39 PM
Super-smooth tones a la NeatImage perhaps? Although this kind of waiting is very cliche, this is a beautiful shot and will doubtless rate very highly.
06/15/2004 05:39:07 PM
Nice Tones
06/15/2004 01:32:58 PM
Beautiful composition
06/15/2004 11:52:47 AM
Isn't this the same rock as that "waiting for enlightenment" guy? Nice shot!
06/15/2004 11:34:37 AM
Nice example of the subject "waiting" and beautiful colors and focus.
06/15/2004 10:01:02 AM
Excellent.
06/15/2004 09:26:48 AM
I've seen a lot of fishing-themed "waiting" photos...but this one is so far the ONLY one I've seen that catches the essence of the idea. Kudos on this brilliant shot!
06/15/2004 04:22:45 AM
Your picture does convey waiting but to my eye it is really, really dark. It doesn't look like a real fisherman as he doesn't have a real pole.
06/14/2004 11:38:12 AM
I slightly prefer this photo to the one taken by the model in this photo, I presume! The composition seems a tad more balanced here, but the elements both photos have in common is great... wonderful light, stillness, silhouttes, etc. I prefer the lack of leaves at the top of the frame in this one. I also prefer the reflection of the person in this photo. Wonderful
06/14/2004 01:18:10 AM
Beautiful picture.
06/13/2004 08:15:34 PM
wow nicely done <10>
06/13/2004 05:25:29 PM
classic, good work, 10
06/13/2004 05:25:12 PM
Great idea. Very nice lighting. One of the best in this challenge. -9
06/13/2004 09:50:02 AM
Wonderful shot!..10
06/12/2004 04:08:04 PM
Great silhouette. I like Awaiting Enlightenment too. NIce shot. Jacko.
06/11/2004 08:11:39 PM
Very cool. I would have gone for a different composition witht he rock more to the right, but heck, I wasn't in the right place at the right time. Great stuff.
06/11/2004 07:09:35 PM
One of my two top images in this challenge. I like the sharp focus on the fisherman. Having him in profile shows clearly who he is and what he's doing. The sunset just adds to an already well-composed image.
06/11/2004 06:52:00 PM
A lovely photo. Great color and sense of peace.
06/11/2004 03:27:33 PM
One of the best!!!!!!!
06/11/2004 03:22:43 PM
great shot.. did you team up with the "meditation" photographer???
06/11/2004 06:42:12 AM
i love the silhouettes and its placement. amazing job.
06/11/2004 02:18:49 AM
Perfection. Top 10 for sure.
06/11/2004 12:02:55 AM
awesome shot...i love everything about it
beautiful colors...subject...clarity
06/10/2004 04:14:01 PM
very nice
06/10/2004 10:15:40 AM
WOW great shot, portrays the challenge and the title beautifully, this could win
06/10/2004 04:54:23 AM
This is awesome. One of my favorites.
06/10/2004 01:54:31 AM
Amazing picture. The water is so calm, extremely mirror-like! There are no obvious ripples that I can see. I love how the subject's silhouette doesn't interfere with the dark areas in the background. I only wish there were a bit more color, perhaps more redness in the sky to compliment the overall blueness. All in all, beautiful shot! My guess: Model must be Nazgul and photographer must be Heida. ;-)
06/09/2004 10:55:51 PM
great colors and I like the silhouette....I wonder if the fisherman was off center it would make a bigger impact..or cropping the right side to just befor the rock?,6
06/09/2004 10:03:17 PM
I love the complete stillness of the water, the lighting and the fishing rod...is it a stick?
06/09/2004 09:49:13 PM
Great shot and it's very interesting that the "Awaiting Enlightenment" shot in this challenge was shot at the same location. Course the rock was reversed and the clouds are gone, but it's still the same location. Regardless of all that, it still is a fine image and I rated it at 9.
06/09/2004 06:49:30 PM
Fantastic shot, really well done, but I just can't accept that this guy is actually fishing. Nice work anyway.
06/09/2004 04:05:22 PM
There are two very simalar pictures here.
If the other is yours also i prefer it.
Good luck
7 for this 8 for the other.
:)
06/09/2004 03:42:28 PM
fantastic silhouette!
06/09/2004 02:39:00 PM
Just Gorgeous!
06/09/2004 12:58:05 PM
Perfect exposition and lovely colors
06/09/2004 12:21:48 PM
don't see how this could be any better... great mood, colors, silhouette. I also like the horizon that far up in the frame and guessing from the reflection, you still captured the interesting part of the sky with this choice. way up there ;-)
good luck!
06/09/2004 12:17:49 PM
Wow, this is awesome! Color and composition are great, and I really think a silhouette suits this challenge very nicely :) Great work.
06/09/2004 09:10:43 AM
Nice image and beautiful colors. Maybe a bit underexposed? Could you have brightened things up without loosing the silhouette?
06/09/2004 08:58:57 AM
amazing.
06/09/2004 06:47:38 AM
really nice, wish he wasnt almost in the middle though, could have cropped
perhaps? 6
06/09/2004 06:41:08 AM
nice photo....I like the colors and the mood. Fishing is an activity of waiting.
06/09/2004 05:28:43 AM
What a beautiful shot. I might have cropped off about a half-inch from the left side, but that is extremely picky and subjective. This is a perfect picture for this challenge that would also be nice hanging on anyone's wall. Great job!
06/09/2004 12:29:31 AM
Great silhouettes and beautiful colors. Gets a 9 from me, good luck...
06/09/2004 12:22:23 AM
Gorgeous.
06/09/2004 12:05:15 AM
very nice colours, I love the old fashioned rod
