what the scat in the hat?!!

Well shut my mouth! I was definitely focused on a different aspect of your style, and gave it a 6. It definitely tells a story - just isn't clear what story it tells. Gave me the creeps. Not sure if the man is looking over his shoulder concerned about something that might hurt the girl, or to be sure no one is watching him...
Thanks for entering, and thanks for the great images you entered earlier.

So, I’m visiting Don’s posthumous ribbon page and I notice this image again (I voted all the photos).
My average vote was in the very low 5’s, 2 of the ribbon winners received sub 5 scores from me and one a 6, Ironically this was my highest score a 9, hmmm. I guess you are a good you.

Also have to take into account the challenge is about what people thought your style used to be and this is what your style now is.

Considering the results of the Ansel Adams challenge, it seems in the top 10-15 is a "typical" finish ...

As I was scrolling through the top results, this bright bit hit me and my first reaction also was that it was the least heida-like so far ...my second that at least someone realized that a limited palette didn't equal "dark" ... ;-)

Congratulations!

FWIW, my mom knew Charlie Chaplin ...

This was my only 10. Completely brill. Would have been a kick if you had gotten the blue in your own challenge. But 10th is nothing to sneeze at. You were out-heida'd by others. :oD

First thank to DPC who brought up to our attention your portfolio, it is one of the gems in here. I thought to PM you letting you know about it, but I knew for sure you'll get to know.
I was wondering if you just gunna set back relax watching DPC compete, or you'd dare to join, glad you did :)

Now a question, how do you feel knowing there are 9 people who can steel your photography identity without any one noticing lol :)

It was fun, it was a pleasure,
one last thing " Don't disappear again " :)

I thought i had left a comment on this during voting... i had this pegged as the best one that fits your "style" but somehow it is different from all your other photos. Great great photo, inspiring as always.

in less DPC correct terms: good job fucker

Hehe, finnst það alger snilld að þú hafir rumpast til að taka þátt :P Töff mynd og flottur fókus, minnir mig á einhverja auglýsingaherferð þar sem eitt módel var í forgrunni úr fókus, held það hafi verið fyrir Diesel eða einhvern álíka.

The story lines that run through the head range from sublime to scary.....great set-up. As someone else said, it would've been criminal if you hadn't made the top ten. You must be really rapped with the entries and you should be soooo proud of the style you have created.

Congratulations on your top 10!! As vlado properly noted it would be surreal anything position higher than that.

I'm glad you made the top 10 of this challenge... anything less would have been criminal.

This was one of my favourites in the challenge... thought it was worthy of a ribbon or an HM at least... but I guess one can never predict what the DPC voters will do from one challenge to the next. Well done, and it's great to see you here again.

You've captured the essence here of Heida but I think what is hurting this shot is the shallow depth of field on the foreground subject. I believe having chosen to keep him in focus would have helped create an even more dramatic effect. Exposure is great and the composition of the two is fantastic. I really like the Sun beaming through the trees and the back lit forest is amazing.

This is one of my favourites for this challenge. Although traditionally awkward with the foreground figure out of focus, it does the job of leaving him something of a dark mystery and pulls the eye down the road to the child. The story that's unfolding goes far beyond the image and off the page. What I find unusual is the fact that he's looking away from her, and off to the left, behind him...so carrying the story further. The leading path ties it all together. Beautiful processing on the woodland too - wonderful light. Good Luck!

GREAT idea, however, since the pink girl is so far away from, my attention goes to the mysterious man. Bringing the girl closer would make her more visible. The man is to much interesting and visible... Great photo nevertheless. 7, not 8, 9 or 10 because of the things I said. I get a very good and strong Heida fairytale out of this.

Great image!! Incredible use of natural light. If it wasn't because it looks very summery (unlike Iceland) I'd say this is a true Heida.
