Crop from abandoned rain barrel.

Or possibly the head of Satan him/herself, of the NotBeing. (Not my own personal rain barrel, you understand).

I saw it as a bird taking flight (abstractly, of course). ;-)

And if it were your own personal rain barrel, you could consider selling it on eBay. Or perhaps just parking it at the yard of a neighbor who doesn't pick up after the dogs... I really like the combination of textures all around the non-texture of the center.

very abstract except for the sense of "hole" but then again many supposedly pure abstract paintings have a sense of "hole"

There is also a sense of layers that I like very much.

All this scene is missing is a pair of glowing eyes within the blackness. ;)

What a fracture! The shadow sort of looks like the Grim Reaper raising his arms -- or something.

oh dear. look at this mess of textures and tones. why it's more like an one of them obtuse abstracts than an upstanding, representational, clinically accurate photograph. and that black thing in the middle, it's impersonating a heart shape. ....the nerve! your punishment is that you must submit several more photos to this side challenge. we're waiting.
