Outtakes

How To:
I used the ribbon provided by Judi in the forums, inverted the black and white, and printed it at kinkos on card stock. Cut out the ribbon with a utility knife to create the stencil. Cut a tab in the card stock, and inserted it between discs of Season 2 of 24. Camera on tripod and timer, sparklers behind the stencil.

PP was straighten, crop, recovery, blacks, contrast, saturation, vibrance in RAW, more contrast, some burning of errant sparks to emphasize the shapes of the ribbon, change hue to blue, resize and adamus sharpening.

Sweet, nice going Brad! Great concept and nicely executed. Congrats on another ribbon. That's pretty cool that you and Jon are sharing some front page-time.

I do have to repeat what I said in the forum. I actually think the stray sparks added a bit of character and made it a much more interesting photo. People don't realize that perfection is dull. There are tons of pictures of beautiful models--they don't interest me. Give me the old wrinkled woman with the sparkle in her eye. That's character!

Great effect, would like to see how you put this one together. Nice clean shot, to the point and manages to be interesting in a challenge which makes it difficult to be original! Good job, 9 from me.
