I've wanted to capture Mr. Lee in a photo for a while now--finally was able to do it in a clandistine, candid type of way. He has a million stories, and I've heard a few of them. He always wants to send me home with a bike or a trike for one of my boys and he is know around the neighborhood as the go to guy for old bikes.

This is his shop, full of parts and tools. No, make that crammed full of parts and tools! Lighting is a daylight small window camera right along with a door that is open to the outside.
Used Nik Silver for my conversion plus some local burning/dodging.

Had hoped it might score more highly, but I'm pleased with it on a personal level. Thanks for your votes and comments.

excellent B&W. Mr. Lee makes you want to instantly like him. Old tinkers are cool. Just a paintbrush away from Norman Rockwell.

An excellant candid portrait of a venerable character - the bike repair man. The author has obviously used flash, but it's not that noticable - the various highlights are not overdone, the setting is very natural, the pose is perfect capture of a moment in time. This would be a good subject for a photo journal piece on the life and times of a mechanic. Nicely done - one of my favorites so far.

Great environmental portrait. Looks like you even caught him mid-sentence.

I'm guessing there isn't a bicycle part he doesn't have or can't fix. I bet he has some great stories
This is a beautiful documentary shot that works so well in B&W, I wish there were more like this on here.
