I was lost for ideas when I remembered an old rose I still had that had long since dried up so I decided to go for something a little new for me, high key, so I'm not expecting much in the way of a score as I'm unsure as to how best to present such a shot.

I placed the setup in a large light tent.
Used two Bowens stobes from the front and a speedlight at the back on remote to blow the background out.

Nice one, Will! I always find myself so drawn to dead-flower photograpy :) There's something so dramatic and story telling about it. And this one is flawlessly done and deserving of front page honors!

There are a bunch pictures of live vs. dead flowers in this challenge, but this one made me stop and say "Wow, that is interesting." Good shot.

This would make a great print. Well thought out and refreshingly different from most of the other flower entries.

Man, that one flower is really dead. Like really dead. Skinny dead.

hmmmm.... right to left or left to right. To my Western eyes this is re-birth. Kinda gives a bit of hope after all those graves. Thats not a critiscm btw just an observation - this is a lovely picture.

Very nice image of life and death. White background illuminates the picture greatly and the clarity of the image is nice and clear. This one gets a 10 from me.

A very literal portrayal. I like it.
