 I brought a 105mm Macro lens about 3 months ago and have not had an excuse to use it with the recent challenges. Not the most exciting of shots, or the most creative, but hey, I have tried that for the last 2 weeks and bombed. Surely I can't fail with a macro and a black background!!

Good detail.

Could have been worse you could have been photographing only half a bee like the bee named Eric in the famous Monty Python tune.

"Half a bee, philosophically, must ipso facto half not be. But half the bee has got to be, vis-à-vis its entity - d'you see? But can a bee be said to be or not to be an entire bee when half the bee is not a bee, due to some ancient injury?".

Well, looks like you so did not bomb on this shot, well done.

Your DOF is great, your sharpness is sharp, you have good clean lines, good choice in the background. Not many would have gone with the black on black, but this really worked out well for you here.

There is not a lot to critique here as you pretty much nailed it to the board! I would love to see what you could do with this in Advanced Editing!

Great detail on the bee, especially the lower yellow bit. Nice choice of background colour, I liked the black backgrounds in this challenge better than the whites.
