Circular polarizer, B+W ND110 filter and a Graduated ND filter. 30 sec exposure. Adamus sharpening and Luko USM technique blended together with masks.

Post challenge: Thank you for all the votes and comments, i am excited to have placed on the front page. this is the Point Bonita Lighthouse located in the Marin Headlands just North of San Francisco. It is open only 3 days a week mid-day and the first time I had been there. It is a nice addition to seeing the Golden Gate bridge if you can make make it. You can see Harbor Seals and Spinner dolphins playing in the surf.

Nice, No 1s, 2s, or 3s!

I have been using a B+W ND110 filter for a little while now. It is a 10 stop neutral density filter, if you would like to see more images with this filter you can browse my ND 110 folder

Post challenge again:
I have lost the original. I thought I had saved it but I guess I was wrong, it is no where to be found. Be careful with your file transfers!

Hey, Joe. I wondered who had been out to the Lighthouse. Nice job, for sure.

They also have 'moonlight' escorted visits several times a year. It is especially spectacular around Sept/oct when you can easily photograph both that big moon rising and also the sunset weather permitting, of course.
Check the Marin Headlands website or I can inquire of a photographer I know who sometimes leads the walks.

I don't like that the lighthouse base in on the same level than the horizon. But what a terrific place. There are so many elements in there which would make a great picture on their own! You chose to put the all in... Why not. Go and get you ribbon!

9 - Wow, what a scene. Looks like an extremely difficult image to crop - really like the details and the long exposure creates a wonderful effect. Excellent quality. Up to 9 from 8 - but I do still wish I could see a little more, but just the size restrictions - make an excellent wall sized. Maybe a tweak in perspective correction, hard to tell, kind of like the way it is 'bent' with the (seemingly) fisheye lens. A very special place and scene, captured in an almost magical image. I also like the gray sky. Adding to my Favorites too.

O YEAH! A nice non-traditional lighthouse that pulls your eye into the image and just makes me glad to be a part of any world that has this in it! I like it very much!
