Bud of a miniature trailing petunia. Cropped, since I took it at 70mm focal length. Applied a layer via goodman and then played with saturation and hue value. Did a smart sharpen at 70% in gaussian mode. Used the saturation tool on the bud, and also the sharpen tool.

Don't know if it's the processing or not but it looks like a spent blossom, clinging to its color for a few more minutes with the help of some moisture to stay its inevitable drying, dying, dropping, decaying.

No idea what you mean by sharpen at 70% in gaussian mode but probably should learn. This is really lovely.

It looks fleshy or maybe I mean fleshly--as it emerges from the BG almost as though it had no stem. Slightly creepy, but fascinating. "D
