So I was framing up to take shots of this tree after sunset, about 830 pm or so, from below the tree far enough to get the silhouette against the sky backdrop... and here come these deer walking across the way and feeding on the grass. It was pretty dark out and i was working with a 3 second exposure, and so with my camera on my tripod, I hit the delay timer and let out a loud yelp to grab the deer's attention and stop them from moving long enough to get a shot in, haha.

Post-processing very minimal. The afterglow of the sun was still burning and came thru in the long exposure, but I submitted everything really hastily and got caught at midnight with this version with a green cast that I eliminated in subsequent edits... Also in turn made the sunset a bit more vibrant, but what can you do.

Lovely silhouettes. Usually I want to be closer to the wildlife but this shot puts them into their habitat and works wonderfully well.

Almost the classic zen shot. The deer are a real bonus here. Colors work well except the greenish sky doesn't look natural to me.

Great silhouetts. I love the juxtaposition of the two small deer against the enormity of the tree. Well done and glad they didn't run off before you got the shot.
