I love the simplicity of Breugel and other Dutch masters, so I thought I'd go for an image that looked more like a painting than a photograph - although in basic that does make it difficult! Luckily we had the most awful weather on the day I took this, and the light coming in my back door was incredible, so gathered everything and snapped away at fairly high ISO in order to get the depth needed under basic. Lol, I didn't notice the birdseed on the floor, my daughter saw that - usually the other way round!

lol, that birdseed really canned me didn't it! Silly of me not to redo it, but by the time I'd seen the birdseed after cropping all the foreground out, the light had completely gone, and my time had run out, so it wasn't possible to reshoot. Oh well!

Hmmm... maybe it's just me, but I'd have never noticed the birdseed without being told it was there. Perhaps I just overlook stuff like that. To me, it makes things real, not perfect, and real is preferable. This is a nice quiet piece and far more of a "still life" than many above it.

Ah Trish! This is a wonderful shot such a shame about the birdseed I think you would have made top5 easily had that not been there.

Beautiful arrangement though really nicely done

Nice arrangement - I have the same problem with my floors, but I might have cleaned up the dust a bit - either on the floor or on the computer

If it wasn't for the white spots on the floor thats distracting, I would've given it 8. but still giving it 7 :)

Nicely set up. Nicely lit, but watch out for hot spots. Great color palette. I wish the flower stems were not extending out of the frame. Some nits... That little black dot on the wall is very distracting to me. It's little details like these that turn a good image into a great one. Next time, sweep the floor.

This looks slightly tilted. It's a nice setup with charm.
