Post challenge:

Thanks for all the nice comments and great scores! I didn't expect to score anywhere near 6 let alone above it.

I only had one comment about the star I left in the frame. I figured it was there, so why take it out? Apparently it didn't take away from the image. :)

Sublime. As VitaminBsays: you make it look so easy.

There is only a small difference in score, but to me this one is significantly better than your previous one:

This one looks sharper and more textured than the previous one.

Very good shot of the moon. Shots like yours make it look easy, but I know from experience how difficult it really is.

Stunning, i wonder what lens you used for this. I love the texture at the bottom side of the moon. Almost within an arms length.

Astrophotography is always appreciated by this reviewer and this is a perfect example of a subject that is not always captured properly. In this sense, the title and subject, while fairly common in several recent challenges, perfectly fits the challenge subject of darkness and is a inventive way to look at same. Normally, this reviewer has issues with over use of space, but, no pun intended, the space in this image is well used and very effective. Originally rated an 8, it has been rerated to a 9 for technical excellance if not artistic impression.

i love the title and the capture but docked a littttllle bit for creativity. is there any reason you left the star right under the moon rather than cloning it out?
