Hubby again!!!

Shot at a training mine....Lennons Training, Emerald, Qld, Australia

In answer to questions I have received about the set up. This was photographed in the only simulated mine in the industry. The opening day is actually today. And this was shot during the promotional photo shoot.

The mine door was behind me and went down past Damion into the background...but there is also a turnoff to the right just past Damion. This opening then had small doors into the dungeon areas where they work on electrical setups. The mine is normally as dark as a mine so lighting was crucial.

I initially wanted to silhouette him...but the lighting and area didn't allow for a distinct silhouette...so instead I turned the image into what you see.

My lighting was two studio lights around the corner to Damion's right. On the left I had made use of the light that was already in the mine (an industrial floor light) and I also had Brat slave a 580ex up higher than the industrial light. If I had known at the time that this was where I would end up I would have up the light power and used completely different settings...but as I had about 15 people turn up early for the shoot...I had no time to reshoot.

There was a comment that the background didn't look real....trust me...it is very real. LOL!

Haha - that's funny. There's an ad currently running on South African TV for a local satellite broadcaster (DsTV) where they used an almost identical concept. It's a construction worker (much like yours, with helmet and all), who's been watching all the shows on the Cooking channel, so he packs out his lunch box and sets out a 3 course meal with presentation a cordon bleu chef would be proud of - much to the amazement of his co-workers. :-)
Congrats on the ribbon.

Oh Judi! You have more creativity in your little shutter finger than I have in my whole being for a lifetime! Congratulations. This is so perfect. And it wouldn't have worked quite so well if your hubby wasn't so ruggedly handsome :)

I love the guy and the tea party. It is so odd, so quirky, so sweet. Great treatment, although it looks like the conduit portion is from another shot. I hope this is legal, 'cause I really like it.

A sense of humor in challenges like these are always appreciated and when they meet the challenge criteria head on, it is a pleasant experience for the viewer. The image is nice, crisp and the melding of two disparate ideas of the rough ready underground worker and afternoon tea is just delicious (pun intended). Well done.
