Used the red lights of my car to create the red light on the road. To me, this image reminds me of a web. The way it laced and branches out over the sky and blossomed into a magnetic storm of solar radiation was very spider like, especially the way the "legs" moved across the sky, at first.

It flooded the sky for all of 30 seconds before disappearing completely. I had just enough time to capture it while I dove out of my car and attached the camera to my tripod. I wish I had a better place to compose, but it worked out nicely.

I had a hard time compressing this, it's saved in jpeg low at 100 kb. The original file size was about 25 megabytes! I think I did a good job, but if you wish to see other northern lights at a higher quality, please visit my website located in my profile.

A view of natural world lighting that is not normally seen in the southern latitudes. Interesting treatment with the red foreground providing some contrast. A very interesting starfield demonstrating the nature of physical light thousands of light years old. A stong, purposeful image using the natural world as it's playground. Extremely creative and should be a top ten image if not a ribbon winner.

You can't loose with Polar lights, but does not mean you can always win, I'd prefer mountains instead of those trees. I wonder how you got the red light on the road ... - car brakes? Nice touch.
