Thank you so much for your comments. (and your votes of course) I'm amazed, and soooo pleased. I will be grinning stupidly all day!

Seriously folks, thanks for all the congratulations and comments, I'm thrilled, never imagined I'd win any ribbon, let alone a blue. Must say that my husband is the reason I take photo's, he gave me my first camera, I'd never taken a picture before. Now, I love it, obsessed is a word that is bandied around frequently. And Lydiatoo, he kissed me.

Here is one of my out takes

Congrats. Looks so realistic! I've always loved the railways. Especially Looking out and feeling the breeze on your face.

This is SO AMAZING! I love train photos anyway -- but this one has all the glam and drama that definitely make it a blue ribbon winner! Congratulations!

At last a human!! Great atmosphere would have liked to see a little more of his face perhaps. Still very good image.

The only complaint I have is that the engine is a little less detailed than it could have been, but the overall ethereal effect is excellant and the image has terrific impact. A complete artistic success and a nitpicky technical success. Well done.

Nice shot, I'm kind of torn on the engineer's face seeing it or not seeing it!

Back to comment. This is one of the stronger entries. The idea is good, but there is perhaps a bit too much steam - in an ideal world you would have cauht the engine driver where there is a break in the steam, and the photo is just a little too dark for my tastes. That said, it is up there in my top 5 of the challenge.

Can you bring out the face just a little bit more? Great shot, but it keeps me wanting to see his face better.

I like this concept alot but think it could have been carried out better. For one thing, I would like to see the engineer's face better. Also, wish there was more detail in the train and not so much dead space to the left.

I do like this, but the border detracts here - 7, might have given 8 w/o border.

I think a closer crop on the right would be better, the dark void of the train is really fighting for my attention here, especially since his face is so obscured (which I like).
