Great job. dof isn't too shallow. Theres something there besides "just" texture the texture that is there is really good. lighting is good, not too flat. A tiny bit hot on the nose though but not too bad.

This subject has been seen before and the different angle is very effective use of imagery in both instances. This should be a top ten image and if it didn't win a ribbon, it would be highly unfortunate. Excellant tone control and inventive use of subtle color. Righ in detail, an excellant capture.

excellent shot...somehow I wish it was in color...the Sepia does not compliment it as much I know these creatures can be very interesting in colors alone
