I had thought of doing something with igniting matches, but that's been done to death. Tried to configure something from which beams of light illuminated, but none of my attempts panned out. This was my fallback idea, and it didn't go exactly as planned, but it's clean, simple and I'm fairly happy with it (which means "It'll get hammered in voting").
Until I started to shoot this, I forgot what great bokeh this lens provides, particularly at the largest aperture. This is a wonderful lens (the OLY 50mm 2.O ED). IMHO, it's a "must have" for anyone shooting four-thirds.
No other external light sources (natural or otherwise) were used. The candles are actually white. I skewed the WB toward "Shade" to get a more pleasing hue.
