just beautiful. might even work better if fully b/w, but might not. the eye is drawn to the hair clips, and it is her face that deserves attention.... 8

Beautiful and poignant at the same time. Excellent use of water, and selective desat.

I like the selective colour in this shot.

Good selective desaturation. I really like the look with the rain. She looks pensive to be in that situation.

leaving the colour in the hair accessories draws us away from her face

Nice capture. I feel there is more than needed room behind her back and also the yellow clips move away from her face which I thought was the most 'beautiful' in this image. Still a high vote from me 7 :)

Wonderful portrait, the expression and postprocessing with the selective desaturation are great. A moment very well captured.

Beautiful girl and portrait! The yellow ruins it for me. I would like to see it without the yellow.IMO

selective color and toning works, but wish the top barrette was not over exposed

One that made me pause to look at it a bit. I don't quite know of any feedback to give on this, but it's really good.

Good use of selective desaturation.

The desat only pulls the eyes away from her beautiful face. All black and white would have been just as effective. Nice job otherwise...

I love this photo! This is my favorite kind of photography. A beautiful "best" photo!

I like the capture, but the selective desaturation detracts from the image, in my opinion. My eye is immediately drawn there instead of to the beauty of the little girl. The lighting is already a bit harsh on the top of her head, and adding the only color there serves to pull my eye there even more. I would have also pushed her toward the back of the frame a bit more with my cropping. There are a lot of interesting elements inside the frame, but the color and centered composition really don't pull my eye through them.

Beautiful indeed!! I really like this. She seems a little sad with her eyes down like that though. It does provide interest in the photo, but I bet she also has a beautiful smile!

Nice.. I like the selective desaturation.

Wish you hadn't cut the top of her head off. And I think the little yellow clips actually detract from this.. She's the one who's beautiful, not the clips, and having the clips brighter like that draws the eye away from her.

I'm not usually a fan of selective desat but it works well here. Lovely shot.

03/12/2009 11:53:05 PM
oh that poor girl, I like the B&W with the flowers standing out almost like they add a little warmth to a cold photo :)
  Photographer found comment helpful.
03/12/2009 10:43:43 PM
Beautiful is correct! I think I would prefer this completely in b&w as the selective color only draws attention way from the true beauty in this shot. Lovely anyways.

yes, she is Beautiful...really like the "feel" of your shot, enough B&W with color to make it very appealing

Cute. I would have cropped more of the right off but I like it in black and white.

nice desat of colors, I think if she had been glimpsing at the camera and keeping the expression, this would be a very powerful image, still very good though
