| I remember this or a similar shot. It's amazing how they stay with you. I'll look for it after challenge is over, but I recall a story about erasing pictures off memory card to put new ones on. Maybe not this one, but it's still a great shot. |

| I think that this is a stunning picture and original too in that it is a night time landscape that also captures a moment. You can almost imagine the spookey stories being told around the fire. Very cool indeed. I gave it a 9. Good luck for the rest of the challenge. |

I'm hoping to leave comments on as many photo's in this challenge as possible... out of (currently) 1124 images, I gave 31 of them a 9. Your image was one of those 31.
There are a lot of starry sky photos in this challenge, but this is one of the standout images for me. The warm glow from the fire is so inviting, and the whole scene is serene and as you say uplifting. A perhaps stark and maybe even "boring" location in the twilight, you have converted it into somewhere special!
This is an amended comment... it was originally "Adore the colours :-)". That said, I do adore the colours :-) Good luck for a strong finish in the challenge! |

| love this shot... I actually try to achieve this every time i go camping, with mixed results, never anything as perfect as this, so I know its not easy. I think the key is to block the actual fire. The image at once encompasses the sublime beauty of this earth along with the wonder of being out in and experiencing that sublimity. One of two 10's so far. GL. |
