Beautiful B&W photography and I love that negative space. Even though the motion is stopped, the energy is palpable. One of my faves of the challenge.

In a darkened hall, without looking up to see, if anyone should hear, he began to read his poetry. The images spilled forth from his imagination to words on a page, and on to the ears of anyone who would hear. And when he finished, he looked not around, but slowly returned to his chair and sat down. The room was silent - had anyone heard? It mattered not. The imagination was the thing.
While it may not matter to him, it mattered to those who heard. The bright, burning images of light playing on the water, of a maid despairing of ever finding a worthy mate, of the appearance of her knight in shining armor, disguised as the blacksmith's aide. The glowing hope of a bright future.
The audience sat in stunned silence for a while. But then they stood to applaud the poet, who cared not a bit.

Very good use of light and dark - Good choice of exposure, even without the title this photo would be quite self explanatory. Good composition. Doesnt really have a WOW factor though. Gave this a 7 on initial voting. Still stands at a 7.

Dramatic lighting. Strong contrasts. I would have liked to have seen just a little more features of his face to reveal some character. Also maybe crop some of the dead black space on the right away. Maybe 2 inches or so.

This is a very cool shot. I like how his hat is the most prominent thing in the picture, and I really like the way you have used the negative space.

This shot really took me by surprise... The use of negative space - especially given the subject's talent - is used exceptionally well. The title actually made me more involved with the image... Outstanding work.

dramatic lighting, but I am not sure this really works for me. I guess to me this would really work if it was easily recognizable who this person was from the clothes or actions , etc.

There are a lot of nice photos in this challenge, and this is one of them... maybe a little tighter crop on the top side could improve it, but I like the moody darkness.
