Fascinating and beautiful arrangement and composition - adding to favorites. Wish for advanced editing to remove the lettering. Wonderful.

I really like this, though I wish the center background wasn't completely blown-out. OTH, if you rotate it about 90 degrees CCW, I notice it's rather heart-shaped -- perhaps you'd want to accentuate that.

I love shots of old tools in general -- I have to shoot more of my own : )

Great composition, and love the colortones as well..... Out of a very simple shape, you have created a really great image, with so much impact.....
I love it, and it is now in "my favorites" as well.....

I love this composition. It is truly beautiful. Even as is, I am placing it in my favorites. I look at images and when I work I do so in series. That is, I vary the lighting and then look and see what else can I do to improve it. I love the transition from yellow to red and would have prefered a slower transition between the white and the yellow. Of course, it is easy to point out ideas and changes once a concept is born. Here I concede that your concept is indeed above average. It has a flair and beauty to boot.

Nice subject (reminds me of the manual days of design!). Composition would benefit from ofsetting the subject to bottom right, creating some lead-in lines. Arranging the French Curves less rigidly would enhance the aesthetics too.

I really like this photograph. Particularly the color, then the asthetics of the shapes. I find this quite original. Nice eye. My only distraction is the printing on the curves.

Thanks to all. I appreciate your comments.
I will try to answer your questions: There are two transparent french curves, the smaller one stuck through the larger one. They are setting on what WAS a clean mirror which is laying beside a wall which is Spanish textured and painted a creeme or off white color. The room's lights were off. The lighting was by "playing" a flashlight onto the curves in a tight circular motion from above. The final result was created by adjusting the global levels. I didn't notice the speck which shows up as two until the next day when looking at the shots in 'Elements. I tryed to redo the shot about 60 or so times but was unsuccessful. Lesson learned------keep an eye on the details BEFORE you make the shot. You might not get the same chance again. Thanks again for your votes and your comments. David

I love the lighting, but I wonder what it would have looked like with no flash and a long exposure with some softer lighting.

The arrangement of these "french curve" jigs with the orange backround works very well! Very creative.

The intense lighting of this photograph really throws you off -- same with the odd shape. Nice effect.

nice depiction of the theme, nice colors. Curious how you set this up? is that a reflection of two or are there actually 4? Good shot!

Very sweet! Beatiful shot. Probably my favorite in this cometition. Only thing keeping me from giving it a 10 are the little black dots just above and to the right of the subject. I know, I know, kinda picky of me. But they are just big enough to be noticible, and therefor distracting. All in all though, excellent work!

I like the composition and lightning of this picture very much. It's only because of the bright refelection on the plastic in the center that I gave it a 9 instead of a 10.

That is one unbelieveably clean mirror! I love the color in this shot, it a shame there's that one black speck and it's reflection.

did you use a filter to get the orange hues or did you play with your white balance? how did you get the bright background without any glare on the ruler? ingenious. ingenious

I like the concept. It looks like a difficult shot to get perfect. How did you light it? Was there any way to avoid the strong reflections on the lower curve? Did you try playing around with the plan view angle of the lower curve so that it was not reflecing almost directly at the lens? I would have rated it even higher than I did if not for this small detail of the reflection. Keep up the good work!

Great concept, might have helped a little if the light was not as harsh and if the lables could be removed not sure if that would be possible though

There's just something about this picture. The colors are good, and the transparency of drawing tools gives the picture another dimension. It would have been more artistic if not for the brand label on the one tool, but not much you can do about that.

this shot has some obviously great qualities. the colors! wow. i'm not sure what the subject is, but i do really like the curves on it. was this shot on a mirror? the reflection is very cool. i tend to like more "organic" shots rather than these sort of set-up shots, but this has great appeal. nice job.

The area to the left of the curves is a little blown out, and there is a reflection on the curves themselves which I find a little distracting.
