This was one of my faves during the challenge. Take away those ones and twos and this would have scored more higher, where it belongs. What a sad commentary on DPC.

interesting composition; slightly too much 'white' for me.

This is just awesome - one of the best examples of negative I've seen in a long time, if ever. This would make a killer poster.

10 10 10 10. I guess I just don't know what else to say. This is probably the best use of negative space I've seen. Outstanding.

...and it stood there, at the end of all things, and looked back on the destruction it had wrought. For it had been time, and this universe had played out its part, and it had known that a time for cleansing had finally come.

It stood there, and nodded its head as the nothing consumed the final piece of what once had been a magnificent cosmos. It lowed gently and then, in a blink of an eye, vanished completely itself and then there was truly nothing.

Somewhere, in a distant time and space, a spark began anew, and with that spark a gentle lowing of the Celestial Cow came once more, to signal the beginning of another chance.

I sat for 20 seconds waiting for the full image to load!!

A most excellent use of space and focus. It's almost comical in a way. You did well to get such a uniform white (well, grey at least) background.

hate to text book such a great concept with a "rule of thirds would have worked better" line, but pretty sure it would really pop if so. do a grid and try it at various intersect points. glad you are thinking outside the box.

What a wonderful use of negative space, perhaps inspired by Remie's Cowspace photo #5783 (dont' want to use mucho space for thumb)? In the end it does not matter where the inspiration came from, what matters is this photo is. The snow, the mooer, the post. Simple and effective. And vast. Moo. Well done. Currently one-of-three tied with my top score.

This is one of those images that at first glance you go " hmmm not sure if this works", but when you come back to it you realize, if there was any more it would be "just" another cow in a snow storm. I love this shot!

Ive seen this few times since the voting starter and Im still so confused
its very unusual and I like the simplicity of it but on the other hand I think its too large for my taste . maybe the square format would do it?
dunno , still nice though

9 for having the nerve to enter something this minimalist and pulling it off. Crop is perfect and the post is essential. Just enough snow to give the impression of coldness without making the elements indistinct. Brilliant.

What are you looking at?
Anybody seen my grass?

Simple and elegantly minimalistic. The lone cow stands there in the snowstorm. The bleak, stark surroundings show it is indeed very lonely but the whiteout also speaks of freezing cold. The cow seems to look at us/me/you and wonder what the heck is he/she doing out here?!?!?!:-) That lone fence post that we see here also seems to be 'signaling' the number "one". One cow all alone and one lone fence post with no others in sight.
