Framed copies of this image have been exhibited and sold in local art galleries. Experience tells me, however, that it's not one that will be a favorite here. Art's funny, isn't it?

The image was among 22 exhibited recently at the Art Dialogue Gallery in Buffalo, NY. All can be viewed here: //www.kagelmacher.com/trilogy.html

Ah, lovely. What an absolutely *strange* echoing of both classes of element in the dark rectangle. Has me scratching my head trying to figure out just where the dark plane is located relative to the concrete wall, since we're *seeing* (apparently) the same wall THROUGH its apertures, yet it seems to be a penetration OF the wall. Bizarro. Bumping on second pass.

I really like all of the geometric shapes that are going on here ... the textures are great and I think that the b/w is a great choice for this image, it really highlights the shapes and lines well ... 7

Rather large frame for the photo in the window, don't you think? I like the white spots on the wall, and can't figure out the large black frame - looks like a hole in the wall, but the same background through the round and window openings makes it look like it can't be an opening. Interesting.

What a fascinating image. Squares, circles, and rectangles, oh my! I really like the dark windows on the near wall contrasted with the bright windows on the opposite wall that we can see through the door. Perfect location and timing.

A fantastic illusion. Subtler than a Banksy (at least the ones I've seen), but with more substance. If the photographer is also the artist, then this must be cutout. If not, then this is still a great find, well seen and captured. I'll score this a 10, though I doubt if I'll vote on 20%, so my vote probably won't count. Anyway, I'm guessing you don't care much about scores.

As he came home that day, a bag of groceries under his arm, he happened to glance up before reaching his door, and stopped in his tracks. Odd, he thought, as he looked at the front of his domain. He didn't remember leaving the window open.

He was gripped with a sudden worry and fear. No, he definitely didn't leave the window open, for now he remembered that he had closed it last night, as the breeze had become a little too cool and it was uncomfortable to wash the dishes in the sink. The little ball of fear in his stomach began to turn to terror, and then another memory hit him at the same time. The memory of the sun shining in this morning, and his happy and joyous reaction to it and the flinging open of that very same window to let in the rays and the warmth of the morning breeze that would freshen the air. He then sighed and laughed a great laugh of relief and shook his head and then strolled without worry into his home.

Then, he was accosted by the burglar that was indeed inside, and it was a grave misfortune that he was so preoccupied with the window that he didn't realize that he certainly hadn't left his front door completely off its hinges.

Voted earlier coming back to leave comments. A study in shapes and blended hues is what I see as appealing in this composition. All are portals or windows that give us an outside view but not all are the same shape and this is an exploration of them. To find so many on one wall in this arrangement is most unusual. You have circles, squares, and then the dark rectangle that contains both shapes. Heh, interestingly enough you could make the observation that your photo itself is another 'portal' that we are looking out of to see this arrangement of windows. We are looking through your rectangular portal to see these 'window's on the wall opposite. The state of the colors on the wall itself a 'whitewashed' or 'watercolor' look gives it the appearance of a painting. We can see the places where the white brushstrokes has left the canvas such that we see the grey underneath.
