| It's a pleasure to see a lion picture, a big cat picture, that moves beyond cliché by virtue of its startlingly different angle. A lion profile, indeed! :-) Well done, and a 8 on bump day from me. |

This is much better than i originally thought.
the detail and the color are superior, the only thing i might change is a bit more off the left, this would work well with a square crop +2 |

Back to comment, I firstly gave a 8 but this one deserves more.
It's a powerful portrait, the textures and details are very well preserved.
The only thing I like less is the cropping or rotating to be more precise.
I'm not sure this angle is the best one, don't worry it's just an opinion.

| I like this photo and would probably love it and score it a bit higher if it were a different angle. Not sure I like him looking "up" like that. It just doesn't feel right. I feel like it should just be a profile with him looking to the right side, not the top right corner. It's not natural. |

Beautiful use of light. One of the best animal portraits I've seen.
(as a side note, while I didn't notice it the first few times I've looked at this photo, I do notice on a different monitor that there are some possible spot editing marks in the background.) |

| Voted earlier coming back for comments. Great capture of this majestic lion!!! Love the details we see from furry mane, the whiskers, the hairs my the mouth, and around the eyes. Great coloration...the lighting captures the beauty of the shades that adorn this great cat. Love the catchlight that adds sparkle and dimension to his eye. I feel he is purposely posing; striking a regal kingly pose for us to appreciate his full majesty. |
