I think I know what you are trying to convey with the (what looks to be hair) background but it just doesn't do it for me.

A bit dark at the centre of the flower.

The lighting is a bit harsh. I'm guessing that this was taken outside in the sun, which has left harsh shadows and blown highlights. I'm also having a hard time distinguishing what is behind the flower. Is it a white haired person?
