I'm not sure where the focus is, but it doesn't look like the ice is in focus. I could be wrong. However, this has a lot of potential. A simple overlay effect could improve this photo very much; giving it a more dramatic feel. I find it a bit boring as it is now, sorry. 4

Would have liked this a whole lot more without the icicle

looking at the icicle, I can see the smaller ones off to the left, perhaps would have made a more interesting image than the way this one is composed...the foliage and the creek are great in themselves, the icicle looming in the fg doesn't really fit in a landscape, as it seems unlikely one would come upon this standing freely in the center of a footpath

Certainly taken in deep shade at dusk. Wondering what you did to bring out the nice detail in the forest. Could be an equipment thing for that. My Rebel Xt would not do as well in these conditions.

I like the concept, but I'm not sure it works that well. The stream is so incredibly interesting, I think you could have had a lot less icicle and still have gotten your point across.

at first I found the icicle to be distracting but then I decided I like it...a little dull in color...curves/levels?

Ooooh... those icicles are really in the way and should not have been there. Otherwise nice. Looks more like fall and fall colors to me but that's probably only because of where I live.
