 Editing:

Convert from raw with adjustments to brightness, contrast, colour balance.
Cloned out my tripod leg
Cloned out stray eyebrow hairs
Cloned out printing error in jigsaw (on upper lip)
Crop
Adjustment layer for brightness/contrast (masked only to jigsaw)
Adjustment layer for desaturation of yellow channel (over whole image)
Adjustment layer for Partial desaturation of red channel (masked only to jigsaw)
Adjustment layer for brightness/contrast (masked to smaller jigsaw in the jigsaw)
Resize to 1500 pixels wide
USM at something like 250%
USM masked only to left eye at about 70%
Resize to 720 pixels wide
Save for Web

wow .. i've looked at this some more ..
i hadnt read your processing steps when i made the first comment .. so i see that there was a tripod involved .. so its not a figment of my imagination .. !!
but this gets better and better the more i look at it .. :)

I like it. (I wish the puzzle pictures were just a little clearer - some localized contrast or sharpening adjustments could do it.) Good luck
